John Gallagher is an irish vampire and a main character during first and second season. He was born in ireland as human and turned as vampire. Despite he never dies, his mind is gone after the events of second season finale while his body is posessed by Baron Samedi.

Early years[]
JJohn was born human during the last stages of the original IRA conflict (around 1922 or 1923). At the age of 8 he was turned into a vampire during the fight of another vamp and a hunter. The hunter didn't kill the child but abandon him into the woods. John lived 10 years into the woods hunting wild animal and feeding one time each year from human blood.
He was brought to the irish vampire house by Aideen's father (and the house lord). There he was trained and teached to behave as a modern vampire, though he never get costume to it. Ten years later ocurred the the catholic church cleaning, commanded by North ireland extremists. The irish house fell into pieces during the cleaning. John and Aideen (who got engaged) left the country under the protection of the Deliverance ministry and moved to USA.
